Homage to Iannis Xenakis

The Ionian Festival Ensemble and the Greek Composers’ Union present a twofold evening dedicated to Iannis Xenakis. In the first part, the Ensemble, together with mezzo soprano Angelica Cathariou, will perform works by Xenakis, Varèse, Messiaen, Estrada, Dusapin; in the second part, they will perform the three award-winning compositions of the international competition “Rethinking: Xenakis (Re:X) Composition Competition for Ensemble” organized by the Greek Composers’ Union within the scope of the international consortium Meta–Xenakis for the celebration of the centenary since the birth of Iannis Xenakis.
