Slide a transcontinental
centenary celebration
of the life and work of
Iannis Xenakis (1922-2001)
WELCOME TO
META – XENAKIS

Our jointly organized consortium, spanning five countries and three continents, was founded by several of Iannis Xenakis’s former students, collaborators and dedicatees. Our common goal is to create a truly transcontinental celebration of the life and work of the polymath Iannis Xenakis (1922 – 2001). The main partners are actively collaborating with other local artists and institutions in order to celebrate not only the man and his work but also his artistic and philosophical legacy that has made an indelible imprint on the arts in the twenty-first century. We are organizing many exhibitions, concerts, workshops, public lectures, masterclasses, open calls and composition competitions.

Our calendar, below, will be regularly updated with Xenakis events taking place around the globe. We really hope you will join us live, when possible, and we will also record and archive many of the events for future consultation.

The Meta – Xenakis Symposium will be a two-day (41-hour) marathon in the fall of 2022 starting in Rouen (France), moving on to New York City (USA), Nagoya (Japan), Athens (Greece), and ending in Mexico City (Mexico). Please visit the Symposium page and the Open Calls page for more details.
